Press firmly on the bumper and release it. If the car jumps 2~3 times, the shock absorber works well; otherwise, it doesn't work properly.
Remove the shock and stand it upright, clamp the lower end connecting ring in a vise, pull and press the shock a few times. At this time, there should be stable resistance, and the pull-up resistance should be greater than the push-down resistance. If the resistance is unstable or there is no resistance, it may be due to lack of oil in the shock absorber or damaged valve parts, so repair or replace the parts. After driving for 10km on a road with poor road conditions, stop the car and touch the shock absorber housing with your hand. If it is not hot enough, there is no resistance inside the shock absorber and the shock absorber is not working. At this time, appropriate lubricating oil can be added, and then the test can be carried out. If the casing is hot, it is because the shock absorber is short of oil, so add enough oil; otherwise, the shock absorber will fail.
The shock absorber will generate noise in actual use, mainly due to the collision between the shock absorber and the leaf spring, the frame or the axle, the damage or falling off of the rubber pad, the deformation of the shock absorber dust tube, and the lack of oil. If the cause is found, repair it. The normal operation of the shock absorber can ensure that we move forward more smoothly during the driving process, so it is necessary to check whether the shock absorber is working properly in time.
